Tinnitus Awareness Week
Tinnitus Week 2023 (Feb 6-12)
Chippendale Hearing is proud to be raising awareness of Tinnitus.
This Tinnitus Week (6-12February 2023), Tinnitus UK (previously known as the British Tinnitus Association) are there to make sure that everyone with tinnitus gets the right information, from the right place, at the right time.
Sadly, we know that a negative start to your tinnitus journey can have a serious impact on how you manage your tinnitus and your mental health. From being told to just learn to live with it by a medical professional to reading incorrect and potentially harmful information online.
Please look on the BTA or Tinnitus UK website for further information. Alternative contact us at Chippendale Hearing Services.
An example extracted from the BTA website is given below.
Manage stress
Many people find that their tinnitus increases during a time of stress and anxiety. It is understandable to be feeling more upset or worried at this time, but being able to manage your stress will help your overall wellbeing, and manage your tinnitus.
Things you can do to support yourself
If you are feeling overwhelmed with emotions like sadness, depression or anxiety, or feel like you want to harm yourself or others, contact your GP, NHS 111 or Samaritans
BTA/Tinnitus UK advice for people with tinnitus is to keep doing the things you love and don’t let tinnitus restrict you.
